A lot of moves don’t go to plan, so we’ve built some give into ours. If settlement is late, we can collect your things before the keys change hands, store them, and deliver once you’re in. How a Move Works
- Call or fill in the quote form. Tell us where you’re moving from and to, your date, and what’s going. Photos of bigger items help.
- Get your quote. We go through what affects your price and talk you through the insurance options at the same time, so there are no surprises later.
- Confirm and sort the paperwork. Once you accept, we send the insurance forms. Get them back to us at least five working days before your pack date.
- Moving day. The crew arrives, wraps and protects your furniture, loads, drives and unloads. You tell us where each piece goes.
- Settle in. If you booked unpacking, we unpack and take the empty boxes away. If not, everything is in the right room, ready for you.
Common Moving Problems and How We Solve Them
Most moves go wrong in the same few ways. Here’s what we see often and what we do about it.
Problem: Settlement is delayed and you can’t get into the new house. It happens more than people think. The lawyers haven’t cleared funds by midday and your gear is already on the truck. Our fix: we can take your furniture into storage, and the first week is free. When the keys come through, we deliver.
Problem: The furniture won’t fit up the stairs or through the door. Older Christchurch villas, townhouses with tight stairwells and apartments with small lifts catch people out. Our fix: tell us about access when you ask for a quote. We plan the crew size and the order things come off the truck, and we take apart beds, tables and other pieces that can be dismantled.
Problem: Fragile things get broken in the boxes. Plates packed flat, glasses with no padding, a TV wrapped in a towel. Our fix: book our packing service for the kitchen and breakables, or the whole house. We use proper materials and label every box. Insurance is there for the rest.
Problem: You run out of time to pack. Work, kids and a move in the same week is a lot. Our fix: we can pack the day before your move, so you only need to sort what stays and what goes.
Problem: A long-distance move to Queenstown or Nelson leaves you without beds. If your furniture arrives a day after you do, that’s a night on the floor. Our fix: we agree the delivery day before the truck leaves Christchurch, and we load beds last so they come off first.
